We have an immediate need for an Information Technology Systems Coordinator. The salary range for this full-time, exempt position is $45,779.00 - $67,228.00 annually. As a full-time role, the Information Technology Systems Coordinator is eligible to participate in SHA's benefits program. The posting will be open until filled.

Position Summary:

The Information Technology Systems Coordinator will report to the Executive Operations Manager. The primary purpose of the position is to install, configure, maintain, operate, and coordinate the computer network systems of the Sanford Housing Authority (SHA) and the Central Carolina Strategic Developers (CCSD). The position is responsible for monitoring, configuring, analyzing, and troubleshooting network performance, ensuring optimum efficiency and stable operation of all data delivery processes, wired and wireless systems, network infrastructure, storage, and server platforms. The Information Technology Systems Coordinator also ensures that software conversions are completed seamlessly to meet the business systems' needs and wants.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND DUTIES

At a minimum, the Information Technology Systems Coordinator will be responsible for successfully carrying out the following essential functions and duties in a professional and timely manner

  • Interface with users to gather information regarding procedures followed and possible sources of error to diagnose needs.
  • Troubleshoot computer problems reported by users and refer items beyond capabilities to hardware or software support providers and contractors.
  • Perform routine maintenance on computers, scanners, printers, and other office equipment, including scheduling and overseeing maintenance provided by outside vendors.
  • Investigate, diagnose, and resolve problems with all computer equipment, including network devices and servers, to minimize downtime.
  • Ensure cybersecurity procedures are met through regular security information review, maintenance, and training with staff.
  • Monitor software on all users’ computers and ensure updates are completed promptly, including recommended upgrades.
  • Work with vendors on designing, configuring, and implementing file servers and network operating systems.
  • Assist users with IT questions and problems, fielding telephone calls and e-mail messages to ensure satisfaction and minimize downtime.
  • Develop and maintain data backup and archive systems, ensuring high confidence in data retrieval.
  • Implement best practices and technical knowledge for business systems to increase reporting capacity and efficiency.
  • Perform individual and group user training to enhance overall knowledge of operating systems, hardware, and software.
  • Lead the digital transformation by moving from paper to cloud-based systems and automating day-to-day operations.
  • Integrate cross-functional collaboration of data systems with flexibility, including dashboards for senior leadership and mid-management.
  • Implement cloud-based file management, project management, AI, and other modern business systems to innovate and automate the agency.
  • Consult with department heads to determine the role of business systems in their departments.
  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending professional meetings, reviewing publications, attend affordable housing software conferences, and participating in professional organizations.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Education: Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, information systems, cybersecurity, public administration, business administration, or related field.

Experience: Minimum of five (5) years of computer networking, business systems, IT, and maintaining hardware and software, at a public housing authority, property management company, or nonprofit housing organization.

Other Qualifications, Knowledge, & Skills: To be optimally successful in this role, the ideal candidate will have the following qualifications:

  • Strong understanding of network design, implementation, security, and virtual private networks.
  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical, interpersonal, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Knowledge of cybersecurity principles and system monitoring.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft server environments, Active Directory, Exchange, and group policy.
  • Advanced knowledge of PC hardware and software troubleshooting.
  • Ability to make policy recommendations and maintain effective working relationships.
  • Ability to evaluate customer satisfaction and utilize resources for continuous improvement.
  • Must possess the following required certifications, or be willing to obtain these certifications within the first year of employment:
    • PMP Certification
    • CompTIA Security+ Certification
  • Must possess a valid North Carolina driver's license with a good driving record.
  • Ability to pass required pre-employment background checks, including criminal history and drug screening.
  • Availability for occasional overnight travel and weekend work.
  • Maintain a professional appearance and attitude with all stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to demonstrate reliability through punctuality and consistent attendance.

        PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

        Ability to perform physical tasks, such as bending, stooping, and lifting up to 30 pounds without assistance.
